The Eastern Kentucky Colonels have added the Robert Morris Colonials to their 2024 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game contract with Robert Morris University was obtained from Eastern Kentucky University via a state open records request.
Eastern Kentucky will host Robert Morris at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond, Ky., on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024. The Colonels will pay the Colonials a $120,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.
Eastern Kentucky and Robert Morris first met on the gridiron in 2013. In their most recent contest in 2018, the Colonels defeated the Colonials 40-39 in overtime to extend their advantage in the overall series to 3-0.
With the addition of Robert Morris, Eastern Kentucky now has four opponents for their 2024 non-conference schedule. The Colonels are slated to open the 2024 season on the road against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Aug. 31. Other opponents include the WKU Hilltoppers (Sept. 7) on the road and the Western Illinois Leathernecks (Sept. 14) at home.
Robert Morris now has two non-conference opponents scheduled for the 2024 season. The Colonials are also slated to play at the Lafayette Leopards on Sept. 28.
