Citizens National Bank falls to Clifton-Clyde

In a game that started the week before, but was halted in the seventh inning because of rain, Citizens National Bank fell 13-6 to Clifton-Clyde in K-18 Baseball NCK League play Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Clifton-Clyde grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning back on June 21.
Two runs in the second inning and four in the third gave Clifton-Clyde a 7-0 advantage.
Citizens National Bank trimmed the deficit to 7-3 with three runs in the fourth inning.
Drew Sterrett walked and scored in the inning. Adam Krohn doubled and scored and Cole Britt walked and came around to score.
Scoring three runs in the fifth inning, Citizens National Bank made it a 7-6 game.
Sterrett and Britt scored runs in the inning.
Clifton-Clyde upped the lead to 8-6 with a run in the seventh inning.
Putting up five runs in the top of the seventh inning, Clifton-Clyde extended its lead to 13-6.
Citizens National Bank was shut out over the final two innings.
Krohn pitched all seven innings for Citizens National Bank.
Clifton-Clyde downed Citizens National Bank 14-9 in a five inning junior varsity game.
Citizens National Bank led 5-2 after one inning of play.
Clifton-Clyde outscored Citizens National Bank 4-1 in the second inning, and the game was tied at 6-6.
Five runs in the top of the third inning put Clifton-Clyde on top to stay, 11-6.
Citizens National Bank scored single runs in the third and fourth innings.
Clifton-Clyde tacked on three runs in the top of the fifth inning, and led 14-8.
Citizens National Bank added a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Coleman Plymesser, Sterrett, Andrew Henderson and Deekon Holbert did the pitching for Citizens National Bank.
