The Wichita Police Department (WPD) is investigating a single-vehicle accident that fatally injured Kiefer Goseland, 33, of Wichita.

At approximately 4:05 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, officers were sent to the 3800 block of South Hoover Road regarding a motor vehicle accident. Officers found Goseland, on the road with critical injuries. Sedgwick County EMS pronounced Goseland decease on the scene.
Investigators said that Goseland was driving an orange moped northbound on Hoover Road and lost control of his motorcycle, striking a utility pole, causing Goseland to be ejected from the vehicle.
Speed, drugs, or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
