A tribute in Elk Grove is honoring local fallen first responders and members of the military leading up to the Fourth of July.
The Field of Flags is on display at Harvest Church in Elk Grove.
The nonprofit organization End of Watch Fund is behind the display. Each flag is sponsored by someone, in honor of law enforcement and military personnel.
"About half of our sponsorships are folks that are remembering somebody that was lost in the line of duty, a firefighter, or police officer or a military service member that was killed in action," said Casey Robinson, with the End of Watch Fund. "Then the other half of the flags are folks just showing their support for law enforcement, fire or the military."
By the end of the week, there should be about 185 flags up, paying tribute to the ones who have died in the line of duty.
"At the end of the week, there's a lot of stories out here in this field of folks remembering people, and other folks just showing their support for what's going on," Robinson said.
The flags will be up until the Fourth of July.
