“Let’s see if Matt Olson can start having more games like this, where the moments that seem to be there at times for him over the first couple of months of the season and for whatever reason he was kind of struggling with runners in scoring position," said McAuley. "He kinda got in a bit of a drought for a while, seemed like he was getting out and then kinda a little bit back into it.

“If Matt Olson gets hot and get’s going along with the rest of this Braves lineup, it’s a dangerous group. He is a 40 home run hitter, potentially. He hit 39 last year so it’s not much of a stretch for him and he’s got a big chunk of the season if he’s going to really put up some big numbers. He’s on pace for 90 extra-base hits in his first year with the Braves. That’s nothing to shake your head at.”

McAuley said Olson could carry this team similar to the team’s last first baseman.

“This is a guy I think can carry the club if he gets hot," said McAuley. "With moments like that against an NL East rival that you need to beat up on, Matt Olson’s gonna start writing some pretty good chapters in his book as a Brave, and I feel like it could be a pretty good one as well.”
