CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Flomaton Police officer catches a scammer in the act

FLOMATON, Ala. (WPMI) — A Flomaton police officer caught a scammer in the act! It was all caught on the officer's body camera.

Police say a woman crossed paths with the officer while she was on the phone with a scammer.

Police say the person you hear on the phone called the woman, and claimed they were with a bank.

They told her she needed to go to the store, purchase a cash card, and then give him the number on that card.

Before he did that, she spoke with an officer who is well-versed in scam calls.

The woman did not send the man a card.

Police wanted to share this video, hoping others wouldn't fall victim to a similar scam.
