FORSYTH. Ga. (WGXA) -- A new sculpture, Infinite Unity and Flame of Perseverance, was unveiled in front of the Forsyth City Hall.
The piece, fabricated by Michael Borders of Iron Eagle Design, stands to represent unity, diversity and the people of Forsyth and their diverse backgrounds, according to the artist, Meagan Thomas.
"There's a lot of growth and I've been inspired by that and how everyone came together in a time that I thought was real divisive," she says, explaining that how the city's people stood together and helped each other through the pandemic.
"I found that local businesses seemed to grow and flourish and support each other during that time, so, that was something that weighed heavily on my mind when I came up with the concept."
The project was a joint effort between the artist and the fabricator with support from the Georgia Council for the Arts and the City of Forsyth.
