PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island health and environmental officials have recommended that five beaches reopen to swimming ahead of a busy summer weekend:
- Conimicut Point Beach (Warwick)
- Oakland Beach (Warwick)
- Barrington Town Beach (Barrington)
- Larkin Pond Beach Association (Kingston)
- Briar Point Beach (Coventry)
Those beaches, along with Ginny B’s Campground in Foster, were closed to swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday due to high levels of bacteria in the water.
As of Thursday afternoon, Ginny B’s remained closed.
The Health Department has an updated list of closings and other information on its website.
