Lancaster County sheriff says vehicle had 812 doses of meth

Omaha man and Lincoln woman arrested

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were arrested after Lancaster County sheriff’s deputies found a large bag of meth during a traffic stop.

Around 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, deputies saw a vehicle driving near Highway 6 and North 98 Street with no license plates.

The deputy pulled the vehicle over and discovered that the driver had a suspended license.

A container of open alcohol was seen behind the driver’s seat, authorities say.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found a syringe with liquid and a”large bag” thought to contain crystal meth.

A test of the bag’s contents determined that there was 7.25 ounces, or 203 grams, of meth in the bag.

Sheriff Terry Wagner said the average dose of meth is one-fourth of a gram, which means the bag contained about 812 doses.

Gary Payton, 39, of Omaha and Angelica Agena, 39 of Lincoln were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
