New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson expressed their disgust at a video that shows the execution-style murder of a woman this week in the Iberville neighborhood.

B.J. Brown is in custody for the shooting after authorities caught him in Tennessee. He is also facing charges there of shooting a police officer.

The video shows a woman down on the ground, then a man armed with a long gun walks up, aims it at the woman, and fires twice.

"You know how I got the video?" Cantrell said during a news conference Wednesday. "My 14-year-old daughter sent it to me."

The video had been posted to social media and shared numerous times.

Ferguson questioned why whoever made the video didn't call 911 as they witnessed what was happening.

"When we’re video recording an incident and then posting it on social media," said Ferguson, "I think it’s disrespectful to the families."
