The Barton County Commission will conduct a special meeting Thursday, June 30 at 9 a.m. to discuss the possibility of allowing citizens to discharge fireworks in the unincorporated areas of the county from June 27 to July 4 of each year.
The unincorporated areas would include outside of city limits, rural areas, throughout the county.
The period on the proposed resolution would coincide with the sale of fireworks in Barton County.
The commission will meet inside the courthouse in Great Bend.
