A one-year-old boy from Clinton is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a plastic tote that had water in it.

On Tuesday, June 28, at 6:58 P.M, officers from the Clinton Police Department responded to a call on Elmwood Drive after a report of a drowning.  The boy’s mother discovered her son after being alerted by another child.  A Clinton Police Officer and rescue crew arrived and performed life saving measures.

The child was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and was then taken by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center, where he is currently in critical condition. The Maine Department of Public Safety says that Maine State Police Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
