Semi gets stuck on one-lane bridge in Central Oregon

MADRAS, Ore. - A semi driver tried to cross a single-lane bridge late Tuesday night - without success, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

"Please avoid Pelton Dam Road, which is the road that leads to Lake Simtustus. The other access to this road is off of SW Belmont Lane to Elk Dr. It is closed on both ends," the sheriff's office said. "The road is closed at the Willow Creek Bridge due to a semi truck driver, late last night, attempting to take Pelton Dam Road. This is a one lane bridge as most local citizens are aware of. There is a sign posted restricting the length for this road. There is a crew working on removing the issue now."
