Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop opens in D’Iberville

There’s a new sub spot in town. A now open sign hangs in front of Jersey Mike’s in the D’Iberville Promenade.

Also hanging in their windows are signs of hope for those battling breast cancer. They’re not only well known for their fresh sliced/ fresh grilled subs, but also their work with local charities.

For the grand opening, Jersey Mike’s has partnered with Carter’s Champions and they are having a five-day fundraiser.

Carter’s Champions is a local nonprofit that uses 100 percent of their proceeds to directly assist cancer patients undergoing treatment. Jersey Mike’s Franchisee Brett Dunnaway said, “During the grand opening, we normally raise $3,000 to $5,000 and if everything goes right, we’ll try to match that to get somewhere between $8,000 to $10,000.”

Carter’s Champions Founder John Carter said, “If you come in today and have your card for a free sub you give $3 and that $3 goes to Memorial Hospital Foundation who locally helps.”

Carter’s Champions is known for their pink dress run in October, which raises funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Jersey Mike’s is open from 10 to 9 every day. Proceeds from all customers who receive a special fundraising coupon can make a minimum $3 contribution to Carter’s Champions in exchange for a regular sub.
