Three-Star LB Aycen Stevens Commits to Virginia Tech

VT Fans 1

Make it two linebacker commitments in two days for Virginia Tech as three-star LB Aycen Stevens out of Indianapolis committed to the Hokies days after an official visit to Blacksburg.

Stevens chose the Hokies over offers from Iowa State and Purdue where he also took official visits to, Nebraska who made his top 4, Tennessee, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Duke, Indiana, and more. He is Tech's 11th overall commit and second linebacker commit following in-state, three-star LB Tavorian Copeland who committed to Tech yesterday.

Stevens has ties to Brent Pry and Tyler Bowen via his brother Tommy Stevens who was a quarterback at Penn State when Pry and Bowen were there. Those ties created an opening with Pry and company being able to step in and take advantage to beat out a solid list of quality offers to land someone who quickly became one of their top LB targets on a loaded linebacker.

This is a quality recruiting victory for Pry to step just outside of the 6-hour footprint but a recruit who has ties to VT coaches and beat out Big 10 and Midwestern Big 12 schools to land him. To do so days after his only visit to Blacksburg (which was an official) is also impressive as well.

With Stevens joining Copeland, Tech's linebacker class continues to add their top of the board class in a cycle where Tech is looking to take a large linebacker class and is hitting at a high rate. That may continue over the next couple of days as well with three-star LB/S Caleb Woodson set to make his commitment tomorrow followed by fellow in-state three-star LB Kamren Robinson the day after.

We will have more as this story develops.
