OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The final truss was added to the new apartment building in Oshkosh on Wednesday during a topping out ceremony.
The Mackson Corners apartment building will have 74 units and is located along the Fox River.
Construction for Mackson Corners began last October, but the project has been four years in the making. The building is part of a $15 million project.
The building is the second phase of the larger Marion Road redevelopment plan. Phase one consisted of the Brio building, which houses the Oshkosh Food Co-op.
Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, there had been no groundbreaking events for the Brio building nor Mackson Corners. The partners are excited to finally celebrate together, according to Joy Hannemann, Operations Partner of Merge Urban Development.
Hannemann explained that the intention behind Mackson Corners is to drive connection to the riverfront and Oshkosh’s natural resources.
