Local 4-H youth ready to exhibit at McDonough County Fair

MACOMB — Local 4-H participants “learn by doing,” and the fair is their opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout their time in 4-H as they display their projects.

4-H youth who raise beef, swine, sheep, goats, dairy, and poultry for their annual projects can showcase them at the livestock show.

Events will occur at the McDonough County Fairgrounds, located at 3022 West Jackson Street in Macomb.

Below is the schedule of events:

July 5 8 a.m. 4-H Rabbit Show

July 5 9 a.m. 4-H Poultry Show *Moved to virtual due to Avian Influenza guidelines

July 5 3 p.m. 4-H General Show Projects are on display

July 6 8 a.m. 4-H Swine Show

July 6 10 a.m. 4-H Sheep Show

July 6 Noon 4-H Goat Show

July 6 5:30 p.m. MCLA Auction, Bucket Calf and Evening Program

July 7 8 a.m. 4-H Cattle Show

July 7 2 p.m. 4-H Awards Program

July 9 10 a.m. 4-H Horse Show

4-H members who have their general show projects selected, will have the opportunity to display their projects at the Illinois State Fair on August 12 in Springfield. All 4-H shows are open to the public and free to attend, so the community is encouraged to come out and support our local youth.
