Stranger Things Star Millie Bobby Brown and The Russo Brothers Are Teaming Up for New Netflix Film

After the huge success of Avengers: Endgame, The Russo Brothers have ventured into other projects outside the MCU with one of them being the upcoming action film The Gray Man which is set to be released soon on Netflix. Now, it looks like the duo has found their next project for the streamer and they are going to team up with one of the stars of their biggest show.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Netflix has landed the Russo Brothers' next film The Electric State, continuing their partnership after working together in The Gray Man. Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) is set to star in the film. Chris Pratt is also in talks to join.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who wrote the last two Avengers films and The Gray Man, are writing the screenplay. The film is expected to have a budget north of $200 million. Production is set to begin this October in Atlanta. The Russo Brothers will also produce the film along with Mike Larocca, Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall.

The film, which is based on the acclaimed 2018 illustrated novel by Simon Stålenhag, "centers on an orphaned teenager (Brown) who traverses an American west that is reminiscent of a retro-future with a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother."

Based on the information that we got, it sounds like an interesting project for the Russo Brothers and Brown to do. While it's hard to tell whether the film will end up being great, the premise suggests that it could be an entertaining science-fiction adventure film. If Pratt ends up joining the film, it will be his reunion with the Russo Brothers, who directed him in the Avengers films.

So far, this project looks very promising and has the potential to be a hit for the streamer based on the names attached and its high concept.

Netflix has not set a release window yet for The Electric State. The Russo Brother's upcoming film The Gray Man is set to be released on July 15 in theaters and on July 22 on Netflix.
