U.S. Marshals arrested a second suspect in connection with a deadly robbery in September 2019 that left a man dead and saw almost 20 shots fired at a mobile home park in northwest Tallahassee.

Torail Jones, 24, of Midway, faces five charges including first-degree murder, armed robbery with a firearm and shooting at an occupied vehicle. He is being held without bond.

According to an indictment, he and Hernando M. Gibson Jr. — arrested in December 2019 — were directly involved in the killing and robbery of Cleto Suram, a 23-year-old man from Guatemala who lived in a Brittany Estates mobile home, court records stated.

Back story:

Someone was shot and killed early Saturday morning outside this mobile home in Brittany Estates in Tallahassee.

Investigators determined the pair trailed the victims' truck in a stolen black Honda Accord around 4 a.m., read a probable cause affidavit.

When the truck carrying four friends came to a stop at Suram's home, in the 1500 block of Capital Cir NW, Gibson allegedly approached the vehicle and held a gun up to the head of one of the victims, an affidavit read.

The suspects stole a wallet with about $600 and a cellphone from one of the victims before the shooting began, according to the probable cause affidavit. One victim told police they did not resist and he was unsure why gunfire started.

Used defibrillator pads could be seen on the ground Monday at a Tallahassee mobile home park where someone was shot and killed.

During the robbery, Suram was shot in the chest with a single bullet and later died. The shots continued from the Accord as the men fled.

At the crime scene, investigators found 18 spent cartridge casings and later would determine the shots were fired from three different caliber weapons, an affidavit read.

The U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted in the apprehension of Jones. A spokesperson for the agency did not respond to the Democrat's phone call or email for comment.

Jones was living at a home in Midway, where he was picked up by a U.S. Marshal detective without incident.
