Officials with the Pitt County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on attempted murder and two counts of firing a weapon into an occupied home charges.
Jocquez Quantye Davis, 25, of Enfield, was the man charged.
Officials said around 1:16 a.m. on June 26, 2022, they responded to a shots fired call at a home on William Horice Circle in Greenville.
Deputies said upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to ECU Health Medical Center, treated and released.
They also found that multiple bullets had hit the home that was occupied by several adults and a 3-year-old child. No one in the home was injured.
An investigation found that a disagreement between several people had happened and it escalated into the shooting.
Davis turned himself into the Halifax County Magistrate's Office on June 28, 2022.
He was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $1 million secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
