A Leesburg man was arrested late Friday afternoon after circling the historic Mote Morris House located at 1195 Magnolia Street in Leesburg.

A woman reported that a maroon Ram pickup truck  circled the house almost hitting several parked cars and a dumpster. The woman also told the dispatcher that the truck was not stopping at stop signs.

Leesburg police officers responded to the area and saw the Ram truck in the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station about a block from the Mote Morris House. They observed 32-year-old Huston Tyler Moore standing outside of the Ram truck screaming at a woman near the gas pumps. The driver’s door was open and the truck was running, according to the officer’s arrest report. The officers could smell alcohol on Moore’s breath and he told them he had consumed two Fireball shots earlier that day. The woman who was identified as Moore’s girlfriend said that Moore had been following her around prior to the arrival of the police officers.

Huston did poorly on the standardized field sobriety exercises and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. He was taken to the Leesburg police station where he gave two breath samples which revealed a blood alcohol level of .262 and .264. Moore was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000 which he posted the next day.
