The Honda dealership owned by the Hall of Fame New York Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera is getting closer to opening. The sign is up with The Sandman’s name on the building and the parking lot is being paved. The cars aren’t on site yet but the building that will house the showroom seems to be all but done.
According to a story on Patch in 2020, the Brookhaven Town board unanimously voted to rezone a portion of the 8.1-acre property, to accommodate the dealership.
“A new building would be constructed, while an existing one would be expanded,” Patch reported.
The countdown to opening day is on, according to the official company website, and a clock shows that day to be Thursday, July 14.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Port Jefferson Station community,” Rivera says on the dealership's website.
