Many cities and towns across Eastern North Carolina will be having their annual Fourth of July celebrations.

Here is a list of all the celebrations that are scheduled:
Saturday, July 2, 2022
- Ocracoke will be having fireworks Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 9:15 p.m. Festivities for the day begin at 6 p.m. with pre-fireworks events including Ocracoke Island deejay Tommy Hutcherson. Fireworks will be shot from the Southern end of the island at the National Park Service parking area. The parking area will be closed all day July 2 for the setting up of the fireworks.
- Oriental - The 42nd annual Croaker Festival fireworks take place over the water on Saturday, July the 2nd. After sunset, 9:15 p.m. the show will start and it can be viewed from below the bridge, a boat, or anywhere on shore where the bridge is visible.
Sunday, July 3, 2022
- Emerald Isle is partnering with neighboring towns, as well as Emerald Isle Realty and Mac Daddy’s to present the inaugural Western Carteret Fireworks Celebration. This will take place July 3, 2022, and the fireworks will be launched in Cape Carteret. Events like food trucks, live music and a military flyover from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. with fireworks happening at 9 p.m.
- Kinston - The city of Kinston will be using the scheduled Down East Wood Ducks fireworks Sunday July 3, 2022 as their official city fireworks show this year. Those will be shot off at the conclusion of the game which starts at 6 p.m. While there are admission charges to the game, people can view the fireworks from surrounding areas.
Monday, July 4, 2022
- New Bern - The city of New Bern will have its annual Fourth of July celebration at Lawson Creek Park. It is free to attend with gates opening at 5:30 p.m., and the event running from 6:30 p.m. until fireworks are over. The fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. There will be food, games and activities for all. A limited amount of vehicles will be admitted to the park.
- Jacksonville will be having its 38th-annual Freedom Festival, beginning at 3 p.m. They will be having live music, food trucks, a kids zone and more at 1244 Onslow Pines Road in Jacksonville.
- Greenville will have its Independence Day Celebration at Greenville Amphitheater and Town Common starting at 3 p.m. It will include a car show, food trucks, a beer garden and live music. Fireworks begin at dusk.
- Camp Lejeune - A 21-gun salute will be at WPT Hill Field across from Building 1 on base. This will be done at noon. Country music artists The Eli Young Band will be performing on base at Camp Lejeune at 7:15 p.m. leading into fireworks at 8:45 p.m.
- Maysville - The town of Maysville will be having its Fourth of July celebration from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. They will have live music from The Joe Brown Band, food and fireworks.
- Havelock will be having its Freedom Festival in the city park. The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The Second Marine Air Wing Band and Brass Band will be performing. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.
- Morehead City will be having its fireworks show this year at Jaycee Park at 9 p.m. There will be food trucks, games, music, and fun. The Main Event Band will be playing music from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- Beaufort - The town of Beaufort will have a Fourth of July fireworks celebration at 9 p.m. Many places in town, people can see the fireworks free of charge and the Maritime Museum charges $10 for viewing them from its property.
- Atlantic Beach - Fireworks will be set off at Atlantic Beach at 9 p.m. They will be visible on the beachfront and can be seen throughout the town. Robert McDuffy will play music and there will be a s'mores roasting zone from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at The Circle. Firepits will be stationed on the beach and s'mores kits will be available for purchase.
- Washington - The fireworks celebration is returning to Washington after two years hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be shot off from the waterfront downtown at Mac Hodges Festival Park at 9 p.m.
- Kenansville - Independence Day festivities this year will be at the Duplin County Events Center from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Gates will open at 3 p.m. and the event is free and open to the general public. The event will include Patriot Parachute Jumpers, shirt-shooting giveaways and a veterans flag presentation.
- Belhaven - The town of Belhaven will have a fireworks display at 9 p.m. as part of its 80th annual Fourth of July celebration. The fireworks will be shot off from the waterfront.
- Windsor - The town of Windsor will have a fireworks celebration at 105 Water Street, beginning at 7 p.m.
