Where did all these flies come from? They are smaller than usual and all of them act like they are trying out for the circus. Aerial acrobatics are their specialty, swooping and diving at a Human’s nose seems to delight them the most. The “42” players keep a flyswatter handy and seem to delight in plastering a good swat on the opponent’s arm or shoulder if a fly is spotted nearby. Revenge -- perhaps!?? Actually, the smell from the grain next door to the Center may be the lure that draws those pesky little rascals to come visiting.Hopefully the little pests will tire of trapeze hoop-de-loops soon and leave us alone.
A sad note from the Center came to us on the 22nd; our sweet friend, Gracie Blackman, left the struggles of this world to make her final journey to a heavenly realm. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Those beautiful white water birds put on a show as they flew between Newcastle and Graham. The early morning sun glistening off their white plumage was a delight to the eye. Herons know how to beat the heat -- just take a dip in the lake!
The painting class at the Center was great fun as we painted and got creative with our artwork. The final products all came out quite lovely and as unique as the different personalities who created them. It was a fun morning! Those of you who might be interested in participating in a similar activity, just call and let Angela know so she can notify you of any upcoming classes of fun.
The only birthday person who showed up for the June Birthday Party was Nita Hearne, so HAPPY JUNE BIRTH-DAY to you Nita. Don Berry also had a June Birthday, but didn’t make it to the party this time.
Remember to check on your neighbors during the hot humid weather and be sure to stay hydrated. Water is your friend!! Drink plenty of it! If you work outside in the heat, it is a must to replace those electrolytes lost through sweating. If you start feeling lightheaded or dizzy, get yourself to a cool place and get hydrated! And... let someone know how you are feeling... you may need more help than you think.
July is peeping around the corner at us, so get prepared for more sultry weather. If your A/C quits, please go to a cool facility until your unit is repaired. Take no chances with your life!
