BGPD assists DEA in arrest of man charged with drug distribution

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man was taken into custody this morning by the Drug Enforcement Administration with assistance by the Bowling Green Police Department on an arrest warrant.

Early this morning, the BGPD assisted the DEA in serving the arrest warrant on Highland Way.

An investigation by the DEA spanning western Kentucky and southern Indiana resulted in obtained search warrants, according to a release by BGPD.

The release further stated BGPD’s Critical Response and Crisis Negotiation Teams successfully served an arrest warrant for John Byers, 48, of Bowling Green.

Byers was arrested on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Byers was lodged in the Warren County Detention Center.
