EDENTON — The Chowan County Sheriff’s Office and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman in Edenton early Tuesday.

Chief Deputy John R. McArthur identified the dead woman Wednesday as Lakita Morring, 40, of Edenton.
