The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after multiple thefts from vehicles were reported in the Glenwood Estates subdivision north of Kearney in the past two days.
According to Capt. Bob Anderson, the sheriff’s office has received 13 reports of thefts from vehicle and recovered property from these vehicles. He said seven of these reports are related to items missing from vehicles and a majority of those thefts involved unlocked vehicles.
Four of these thefts, Anderson said, have been deemed suspicious as the person reporting the theft found items were moved in their vehicle, but have not found anything missing.
Anderson said two reports are from people who found property taken from the vehicles on their property.
There are not suspects at this time, but the sheriff’s office posted photos on its Facebook page of an individual who is a person of interest.
Anderson said the investigation into the thefts is ongoing. Anyone with information on the thefts, a suspect and/or has items missing from their vehicle is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 308-236-8555 or Crime Stoppers at 308-237-3424.
Kearney Police told NTV News Wednesday morning that they have not had any recent reports of thefts from vehicles.
