PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Vanessa Crawford, a sheriff in the City of Petersburg, has been named “Sheriff of the Year.”
“Sheriff of the Year” is a national award that considers sheriffs from all over the country. Crawford was the first woman ever to be nominated for the award.
Crawford was previously named one of 8News’ Remarkable Women in 2021 for her dedication to the Petersburg community.
