Company news: Mark Jordan rehired by Laboratory Alliance of CNY

Laboratory Alliance of Central New York has announced that Mark Jordan will serve as director of human resources. Jordan returns to Laboratory Alliance from Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, where he was the director of human resources. Prior to his tenure at Van Duyn, he was the human resources manager for Ichor Therapeutics Inc.

Jordan began his career as an analytical chemist supporting the pharmaceutical industry and then transitioned to a career in education, teaching regents and advanced placement chemistry to high school students. Discovering a new passion for social sciences, Jordan earned his doctorate in education with a focus on change leadership for social justice.

Jordan has more than 20 years of experience in laboratory science, and seven years of prior experience with Lab Alliance in various roles. Initially he served as research and development specialist, playing a critical role in bringing on new tests. He later transitioned into the human resources department in the role of education coordinator. In this capacity he assumed several responsibilities including recruiting, training and onboarding new employees, and was the primary liaison to Laboratory Alliance’s clinical education partners.

Jordan earned a doctor of education in 2015 from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, Calif., and a bachelor of science in 2002 from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse. He also has a Professional in Human Resources certification.

Laboratory Alliance, established in 1998, provides all inpatient and outpatient clinical and anatomic pathology testing for Crouse Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health and for regional hospitals, long-term care facilities and healthcare practices in a 16-county region in Central New York. The company performs more than 10 million tests per year through its 11 patient centers and three laboratory locations.
