Victim of fatal Chesapeake shooting was an 18-year-old from Portsmouth, police say

A man found fatally shot in the backyard of a Chesapeake townhome on Sunday afternoon was an 18-year-old from Portsmouth, according to police.

Chesapeake police officers were called to the Crossroads Townhomes Community shortly before 3 p.m. that day. The community is located on Townhouse Lane, near Deep Creek Boulevard.

Officers found Tayqwon Parker in the backyard of one of the homes. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released any other information about the incident and said in an email Wednesday that it remains under investigation.
