ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating damage to the exterior of a home in the 1200 block of Mound Street in Atchison as arson.
The damage was caused by fireworks being projected at a porch area of the house around midnight on Tuesday night, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Residents extinguished the fire caused by the fireworks before police and fire arrived on the scene. Police are following leads, according to Wilson.
