A favorite summer pastime of outdoor movies in the Berkshires is back for the 2022 season.

The Parks and Recreation Department in the City of Pittsfield has announced that the outdoor summer movies series at Clapp Park will return this July.

Family-friendly movies will be shown on select Friday nights this summer and are scheduled to begin at dusk, around 8:30 pm.

Here's the lineup for this year:
  • July 8 Soul - "Joe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn't quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz -- and he's good. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have a soul."
  • July 15 Encanto - "The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift -- every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigal's last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger."
  • July 22 Goosebumps - "Upset about moving from the big city to a small town, young Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbor Hannah (Odeya Rush). The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah's mysterious father is R.L. Stine (Jack Black), the famous author of the best-selling "Goosebumps" series. When Zach accidentally unleashes the monsters from the fantastic tales, it's up to Stine, his daughter and Cooper to return the beasts back to the books where they belong."
  • July 29 Frozen II - "Elsa the Snow Queen has an extraordinary gift -- the power to create ice and snow. But no matter how happy she is to be surrounded by the people of Arendelle, Elsa finds herself strangely unsettled. After hearing a mysterious voice call out to her, Elsa travels to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond her kingdom -- an adventure that soon turns into a journey of self-discovery."
In the event of rain, check the City's Parks and Recreative Facebook page for postponements or cancellations.
