This puts the city on track to have the landfill closed within the next 80 days. Mayor Anthony Farnum said during the next 76 days, there is going to be a lot of work in to getting the landfill closed. That includes installing special equipment and a cover for the landfill.
Farnum said the city has spent a little more than $3 million on some of the work that's been needed to solve the stench. He added the city knows more than likely, more money will have to be spent to fix the issue.
