Former star Georgia high school football player found guilty of killing his pregnant wife and his Mom
Johnny Edwards IV was sentenced to LIFE in prison without the possibility of parole yesterday, after pleading guilty to killing both his pregnant wife and his own Mother.
Back on December, 7, 2019, Edwards called police and admitted he killed his mother, wife and unborn child and was going to be sitting outside waiting for the police to arrive.
According to Channel 2 news in Atlanta, Deputies found his pregnant wife, Venus Quanteh, lying on the floor of an upstairs bedroom in a pool of blood. His mother, Kathy Edwards, was lying on the floor near the bed also covered in blood.
Quanteh was found to have a fractured skull, cuts to her head, a stab wound to her cheek, a stab wound to her left shoulder and cuts to her fingers. Kathy Edwards had a fractured skull, cuts on her scalp, a cut on her nose and stab wounds to her neck.
Police say he used a baseball bat and steak knife to kill his family. His father is alive but he was out of town when the murders happened.
Edwards was one of the most talented football players in Georgia history going to Wake Forest as a defensive back after a star studded high school career at Starr’s Mil High School.
Edwards was 34 years at the time of his murders.
