Erin, Tenn.–In photo, Erin Police Chief Mark Moore places the handcuffs belonging to Officer Tiebor on the suspect.

The man who shot an Erin Police Officer was captured this morning.

As we reported earlier this morning, no details have been released yet, but the city of Erin posted a photo of the arrest on its Facebook page with the words “In Custody!”.

BJ Brown is accused of attempted first degree murder in the shooting of an Erin police officer during a traffic stop two days ago.

Brown is also wanted for second-degree murder in Louisiana. According to the New Orleans Police Department, Brown is accused of killing a woman in downtown New Orleans Monday morning.

An extensive search involving local and area law enforcement agencies on the ground and air has been ongoing since then.

The police officer was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center after the shooting and is listed in stable condition.

Erin officials said, “Words can not express the gratitude we feel this morning for all of the support from surrounding agencies, our community and especially our own City of Erin Department ! We are thankful to each and every one ! No other details will be released at this time.”
