Two people were arrested in connection to a jewelry theft that occurred in Pikeville last week.

50-year-old Aaron Hall, of Pikeville, and 44-year-old Shawna Maynard, of Banner, have each been charged with receiving stolen property. According to officials, the couple is said to have pawned the jewelry that was taken from Kay Jewelers last week.

Upon her arrest, Maynard is said to have informed officers that she had been told by Hall that he won the items in a poker game.

While police were preoccupied with Mayna, Hall allegedly ran out the back door of the home and is said to have ignored voice commands to stop. He was quickly arrested, managing to pick up an additional charge for fleeing from police.

Both individuals were transported to the Floyd County Detention Center.
