BJ Brown is behind bars, arrested in Tennessee accused of shooting *** cop near Nashville just hours after police here in New Orleans say Brown allegedly gunned down *** woman in broad daylight. It's *** crime that left the mayor shaken and law enforcement leaders asking one big question, why was Brown with *** lengthy rap sheet still on the street cops in Tennessee picked up BJ Brown in the early morning hours Wednesday, bringing an end to *** manhunt that lasted almost *** day. The N. O. P. D. Says Brown is the trigger man in *** brutal execution style murder that happened monday on i bir ville street shooting and killing cassandra jones who had recently filed to get *** restraining order against Brown as *** black woman and someone being gunned down in our city totally unacceptable. And Brown's arrest history is lengthy. Court records show he's been arrested in New Orleans on burglary related charges, but in saint john, the baptist parish. BJ Brown is no stranger to the officers in ST john parish Sheriff Mike Tregg telling us Brown has 15 prior arrest, Going back to 2015 most center on drug possession, distribution, domestic battery and resisting arrest. In fact, he was just sentenced in May to two years for possession of meth but records show the jail time was suspended and Brown was placed on probation. That question would have to be asked to someone else. Uh, we, we've arrested him multiple times. I don't know the final status of all of his arrest, but somebody needs to ask that question. We did reach out to the district attorney in ST john paris seeking answers. Video of jones killing was captured and shared repeatedly on social media sites. Were not showing it at the request of jones daughter who asked us not to, I'm devastated, I'm heartbroken, I'm angry. I really don't know what to do or how to feel. But Mayor Cantrell certainly knows how she feels. She's angry, telling us how she learned about the execution style killing in her own city. And you know how I got the video? My daughter sent it to me. My 14 year old daughter sent that to me. So I'm talking with her in regards to social media. Always right parents do now. We should point out, the D. ***. S spokesperson says that the district attorney in ST john the baptist parish is out of town this week. Brown will eventually be extradited back to New Orleans
