Tennessee authorities arrest man accused of shooting police officer, killing New Orleans woman
A man accused of killing a woman in New Orleans and then driving to Tennessee and shooting a police officer is now in custody.
BJ Brown is accused of shooting a woman in Downtown New Orleans on Monday before then shooting an Erin police officer later that evening in Tennessee.
The city of Erin posted a photo of Brown when he was taken into custody after a manhunt on Wednesday.
Brown is wanted by New Orleans police for second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting that happened Monday in the 1400 block of Iberville Street.
Tennessee manhunt:
According to WSMV, the NBC affiliate in Nashville, Brown is also wanted for shooting an Erin police officer in Tennessee on Monday night.
According to Erin police, Brown shot the officer in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Highway 149 near Substation Loop.
A manhunt was conducted on Highway 149 for Brown in Tennessee throughout the day on Tuesday before he was taken into custody on Wednesday.
