The following individuals were arrested and booked into the Carter County Detention Center over the past week. This list includes local arrests only. It does not include federal inmates being housed at or transported through the detention center.

  • Joseph Elam, 34, of Ashland, held by Carter County Circuit Court, arrested and booked June 21.
  • William Kitchen, 45, of Grayson, arrested by Carter County Sheriff, on a charge of contempt of court – libel/slander – resistance to order, arrested and booked June 21.
  • Amanda Poling, 35, of Grayson, arrested by Carter Circuit Court Family Division, on a charge of contempt of court – libel/slander – resistance to order, arrested and booked June 21.
  • Shelly Burnett-Sexton, 32, of Grayson, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on two counts of failure to appear, arrested and booked June 21.
  • Amanda Harris, 41, of Grayson, arrested by Kentucky State Police, for failure to appear, arrested and booked June 22.
  • Ally Lyons, 23, of Ashland, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on charges of first degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), third degree possession of a controlled substance (dug unspecified), first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, giving false identifying information, four counts of failure to appear, and a probation violating for a felony offense, arrested and booked June 22.
  • Angela Stapleton, 35, of Olive Hill, arrested by Carter County Sheriff, on a charge of first degree wanton endangerment, arrested and booked June 22.
  • Derek May, 31, of Grayson, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on a charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property valued at more than $1,000 but less than $10,000, arrested and booked June 22.
  • Larry Gannon, 56, of Grayson, arrested by Carter County Detention Center, on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, and theft by unlawful taking, arrested and booked June 24.
  • Tabitha Bauers, 40, of Grayson, self-surrender, weekender, arrested and booked June 24.
  • Danny Slark, 48, of Olive Hill, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on a charge of flagrant non-support, arrested and booked June 24.
  • Dennis Watson, 42, of Olive Hill, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on charges of failure to wear seat belts, failure to produce insurance card, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to surrender a revoked operator’s license, two counts of failure to appear, and non-payment of court costs, fees, or fines, arrested and booked June 24.
  • George Baker, 27, of Grayson, arrested by Carter County Sheriff, on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place, arrested and booked June 25.
  • Brandi Meek, 30, of Salt Lick, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving on a DUI suspended license, failure to surrender a revoked operator’s license, failure to produce an insurance card, and failure to notify department of transportation of an address change, arrested and booked June 25.
  • Daniel Burks, 33, of Clearfield, arrested by Carter County Sheriff, on charges of driving on a DUI suspended license, and non-payment of court costs, fees, or fines, arrested and booked June 25.
  • Paul Marcum, 42, of Grayson, arrested by Grayson PD, for non-payment of court costs, fees, or fines, and failure to appear, arrested and booked June 26.
