2 dead, 2 injured after pickup, ATV crash on rural Missouri road

WORTH COUNTY—Two people died just before 7:30p.m. Tuesday in Worth County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Ford F350 driven by Robert M. Moad, 37, Denver, Missouri, was westbound on CR 170 three miles southeast of Allendale.

As the pickup crested a hill, the vehicle skidded across the center of the road and struck an eastbound 2014 Honda ATV driven by Jorge L. Calvo, 52, Hialeah, Florida.  After impact the ATV overturned and came to rest under the truck.

MU Healthcare Lifeflight transported Calvo to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines where he died.

Worth County ambulance transported a passenger on the ATV identified as 55-year-old Zulema Mederos of Hialeah, Florida to Mosaic in Albany where she died.

Gentry County ambulance transported Moad and a passenger in the Ford Melissa K. Percell, 41, Denver, Missouri, to  Mosaic of Albany for treatment of minor injuries. The occupants of the Ford were not wearing seat belts and the occupants on the ATV were not wearing helmets, according to the MSHP.
