Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City grads and track standouts Daniel Lucas and Jadon Robertson have continued their medal haul this summer including three first place and two second place finishes over the weekend as they competed for Vipers Track Club at the USATF Illinois Association Junior Olympics Championships held at the University of Illinois’ Gary Wieneke Track Complex.
University of Iowa bound thrower Lucas competed in the 17-18 year old Division in the Shot Put and Discus. Lucas had a best toss of 149’ 9” in the Discus and had a best throw of 56’ 4.75” in the Shot Put to take first place in both events.
Southern Illinois University bound sprinter/jumper Robertson, also in the 17-18 year old Division, competed in three events. Robertson took first in the men’s 110m Hurdles with a time of :14.98 and took second place in the men’s high jump with a height of 6’ 0.75” and second place in the men’s long jump with a best jump of 21’ 11”.
Next up for Vipers Track Club will be the USATF Region 7 Meet in Crawfordsville, IN held from July 7-July 11.
