A Madison County man accused in the shooting death of a teenager in Hull has surrendered to police in Atlanta. 19 year-old Antonio Walton faces charges that include murder and aggravated assault. Corey Chatham, also 19 years old, was killed late last week in what the Madison County Sheriff’s Office says appears to have been a drug-related shooting.
The Stephens County man who was hit in a vehicle vs pedestrian accident in Franklin County has died. It happened last weekend. Carlos Bullard was 44 years old, from Toccoa. The Georgia State Patrol says the driver of the truck that hit Bullard, a 42 year-old man from Royston, will not face charges in the accident.
The search continues in Gainesville, where a 49 year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver: police in Gainesville are trying to find the drive. The victim of the accident that happened last weekend has been identified as Victor Rodriguez, from Hall County.
There is another rabies alert for Hall County, a rabid raccoon in Gainesville. Hall County Animal Control says a person was bitten by the raccoon and is receiving treatment.
