Two people injured in two shootings in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Two people were hurt in two separate shootings Tuesday night in Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids police said the first happened at about 6:45 p.m. Officers found a juvenile male with a gunshot to his foot in the 300 block of 16th Street SE.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

The second shooting happened in the 1100 block of C Avenue NW at about 7:44 p.m.

Police said a man had non-life-threatening gunshot injuries to his legs. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. Officers said the victim was not cooperative with their investigation.

Additional details regarding these two shootings have not been released. No arrests have bee made so far in both cases.

Police would not say whether the two shootings may be connected. Both remain under investigation.
