State Representative Tom Demmer, Republican from Dixon called having the Primary Tuesday in late June was unusual.  The primary was moved to June do to the redistricting in the State.  He said he was constantly reminding people to vote or vote early if they would be out of town during the primary.

In the Primary Election on Tuesday, Darrin Bailey will be facing Incumbent Governor JB Pritzker in November.  Demmer feels many people in the state have not been happy with the direction of the state in the past few years.

He went on to say there is still ill feelings towards how the governor handled the pandemic and now with higher gas and food prices there is even more pressure of citizens.  Demmer said people in the state want balance and they feel that has not been in Springfield for some time.

Demmer said his party is offering strong candidates for a strong alternative he hopes the citizens will look at.  Especially if they have not been happy with the course the state has been on for several years.
