State Superintendent race headed to run-off election in August

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Ryan Walters and April Grace appear poised for a runoff election for State Superintendent on August 23.

The two were the top two vote-getters on Tuesday night with 97% of precincts reporting.
Walters had 41% of the vote while Grace, the Shawnee Public Schools superintendent, had 31% of the vote. John Cox had 24%.
With no candidate getting 50%, a runoff race will be triggered.
The current State Superintendent, Joy Hofmeister, is running for governor and won the Democratic primary on Tuesday.
