Update: ODOT reported at 11 p.m. that I-84 is back open.

Interstate 84 in Ontario is closed in both directions at this hour due to smoke from a nearby brush fire.

Oregon transportation officials say the interstate is closed at Exit 374 in Ontario and eastbound in Baker City at Exit 304. The fire is currently estimated to be about 30,000 acres with zero containment.

Fire crews are on the scene. It's unknown how long the interstate will be closed.

It is burning northeast of Vale in grass and sagebrush rangelands. No structures are threatened and no evacuations have been ordered.
