THAT IS THE GOOD NEWS HERE. THIS WAS A VERY LARGE FIRE AND A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT RESPONSE THAT WE SAW FROM LOCAL FIRE. CREWS LIKE THE ERLANGER FIRE DEPARTMENT SOME OF THOSE CREWS JUST STARTING TO ARRIVE BACK HERE TONIGHT FIREFIGHTERS. TELL ME WHEN THEY GOT TO THE SCENE. THEY WERE FLAMES SHOOTING FROM THE BUILDING LIKE WHAT YOU’RE SEEING IN THE VIDEO AND ALSO THAT THERE WAS HEAVY SMOKE COMING FROM THAT BUILDING AS WELL. I WANT TO SHOW YOU SOME OF THAT VIDEO THAT WE’VE GATHERED TONIGHT ALSO THAT WAS SENT TO US BY VIEWERS. THANK YOU FOR THOSE THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CONDOMINIUM YOU CAN SEE IS JUST DESTROYED THIS BUILDING IS IN THE GRANDVIEW SUMMIT COMPLEX IN CRESCENT SPRINGS. THE RED CROSS TELLS ME 12 UNITS WERE DISPLACED TONIGHT. IT’S NOT KNOWN HOW MANY ADULTS OR CHILDREN LIVE IN THOSE UNITS NOW FIRE CREWS WERE SPOTTED FROM FORT MITCHELL EDGEWOOD CRESCENT SPRINGS, VILLA HILLS INDEPENDENCE EDGEWOOD ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF, CHRIS. AMON TELLS ME THEY WERE DISPATCHED AROUND SIX FOR A REPORT OF A FIRE ON A BALCONY POLICE OFFICERS QUICKLY EVACUATED THAT BUILDING AND GOT EVERYONE OUT. NO RESIDENTS WERE INJURED FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT AND THEN SPEND HOURS ADDRESSING HOT SPOTS NEIGHBORS. TELL ME THEY CAN’T LEAVE SOME PEOPLE LOST EVERYTHING TONIGHT. I WISH I SHOCKED I JUST THINK OF ALL THAT WE GO TO THE POOL AND WE SEE ALL THE FAMILIES WITH KIDS AND I JUST LIKE LIKE IF I LOST EVERYTHING ALL MY KIDS’ TOYS BLANKETS MEMORIES AND THERE WAS KIDS UP THERE CRYING WITH THEIR PARENTS AND YOU JUST WISH YOU COULD DO SOMETHING. TOUGH SCENE FOR SURE. ALSO, I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT THE ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF TELLS ME TWO FIREFIGHTERS WERE INJURED IN THIS FIRE AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL TONIGHT. BUT THANKFULLY I’M TOLD THAT THEY HAVE MINOR INJURIES, BUT WE’RE TAKING TO THE HOSPITAL TO BE CHECKED OUT THE RED CROSS ON SCENE NOW TO ASSIST ALL OF THOSE VICTIMS IN THIS FIRE. WE’RE LIV

A representative from the Red Cross said 28 people in 12 units were impacted by the fire. The Red Cross said it was able to provide displaced families with financial assistance for emergencies and personal items. Firefighters responding to the fire said crews were able to evacuate residents safely with no injuries. Edgewood Assistant Fire Chief Chris Amon said two firefighters were sent to the hospital for minor injuries. Witnesses who called 911 said they saw the flames from the balcony. "I was just so shocked. There were kids crying with their parents and you just wish you could do something for them," said witness Melissa Weigle. The cause of the fire is still investigation.

Edgewood Assistant Fire Chief Chris Amon said two firefighters were sent to the hospital for minor injuries.

Witnesses who called 911 said they saw the flames from the balcony.

"I was just so shocked. There were kids crying with their parents and you just wish you could do something for them," said witness Melissa Weigle.

The cause of the fire is still investigation.
