Tyron Woodley is down to sign Israel Adesanya.
Adesanya defends his middleweight title against Jared Cannonier in the UFC 276 headliner this upcoming weekend.
As such, “The Last Stylebender” is naturally dominating the headlines and is becoming a topic of conversation in a number of podcasts.
The topic of Adesanya came up while Woodley was appearing on The Residency Podcast, and the former welterweight champion declared that if UFC president Dana White offered the opportunity to fight him, he would take it with both hands.
“If Dana White said, ‘Tyron, I want you to fight Israel Adesanya’ — let’s get it on,” Woodley said. “I don’t like his f*cking dry ass box anyway. He needs some f*cking shea butter. Let’s fight his ass!
“Let’s go. I don’t care if you like me, I don’t care what you’ve said on the internet, I don’t care if you discounted me. It don’t matter. You still got to cut my f*cking check. And I ain’t never had one bounce yet.”
Tyron Woodley, Israel Adesanya Have History
It’s not the first time Woodley has spoken of fighting Adesanya.
Back in 2020 before he was released by the UFC, “The Chosen One” spoke of potentially moving up to 185 pounds and fighting Adesanya. He also added that Adesanya was scared of fighters with power.
Of course, Adesanya didn’t take those comments too seriously.

It’s hard to believe he would take them seriously now, especially with Woodley no longer in the UFC and coming off a devastating knockout defeat to Jake Paul in their boxing rematch last year.
It’s also hard to see White offering any fight to Woodley at this point, let alone one with his promotion’s middleweight champion.
However, Woodley can still dream of it.
