WWII Bomber returns to Barkley Regional Airport for honor flights

WEST PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - The WWII B-25 Mitchell Bomber “Show Me” will be back at Barkley Regional Airport on Friday, July 15.

The bomber has been brought back as part of an effort by the Honor Flight Bluegrass and Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund to honor WWII veterans.

It will be landing at 1 p.m. at Midwest Aviation.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., they will be holding flights for veterans, but everyone is welcome to come out and see the historical plane.

Free tours, outside and inside the aircraft, are available between flights and uninterrupted after.

Parking for the event is at Midwest Aviation and access to the plane is through the gate.

The schedule runs as follows:

  • 1 p.m. – Lands at Midwest Aviation
  • 2 p.m. – 1st Veteran Flight departs
  • 3 p.m. – 1st Veteran Flight lands
  • 4 p.m. – 2nd Veteran Flight departs
  • 5 p.m. – 2nd Veterans Flight lands
  • 5 p.m. through 7 p.m. – Uninterrupted aircraft tour

The B-25 Mitchell Bomber was built in 1944.
