A man faces gun and drug charges in Wayne County

A person is in custody in Wayne County accused of multiple gun and drug charges.

On June 13th, Wayne County Sheriff Chris Otey along with Deputy Jeff Taylor responded to a report of a man firing a handgun out of the back door of a rural Fairfield residence.

After arriving at the residence, Sheriff Otey and Deputy Taylor made contact with 45 year old Jack Myers.

After observing what could possibly be a weapon in Myers waistline, an officer pat down revealed the item to be a holster for a pistol.

After speaking with Myers consent was granted to search the residence which resulted in the discovery of 3 firearms, suspected methamphetamine, digital scales and plastic baggies.

Myers was the taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail on preliminary charges of: Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Firearm.
