Southbound Interstate 5 near Sacramento International Airport reopens after crash
Southbound Interstate 5 near the Sacramento International Airport has reopened after a crash involving a Brinks home security truck, road officials said.
The solo-vehicle crash happened along the Yolo County Bypass near Old River Road just west of the Sacramento River, according to Caltrans. The crash was first reported around 5:05 p.m.
A spokesperson for Caltrans told KCRA 3 that a tow truck was needed to tow a Brinks truck that is partially over the bypass before any lanes can be reopened.
Traffic is backed up for several miles in both directions.
Caltrans said at 6:53 p.m. on Twitter that the road has since reopened.
It is unknown what led to the crash. The condition of the person(s) inside the vehicle is also not known.
